February in Tokyo is the perfect time to spend a day visiting parks and gardens to see beautiful wintertime flowers. Top favorites are daffodils, plum blossoms, and camellia.

East Gardens of the Imperial Palace

The East Gardens of the Imperial Palace were built on the former location of Edo Castle, the remains of which can still be seen today. The garden's Bairin-zaka (plum tree slope) is a popular winter spot. Entry is free, so set aside some time to enjoy the historical atmosphere and take advantage of the stunning photo opportunties.

Kiyosumi Garden

The famous Kiyosumi Garden is designed to take you on a scenic walk around the central lake. The garden contains flowering trees like camellia and plum during this time of year. Don't forget to look down—bright yellow pheasant's eye flowers (Amur adonis) cover the grounds.

Kasai Rinkai Park

Kasai Rinkai Park is home to Tokyo's largest daffodil field, which is in full bloom throughout January and February. Take a ride on the park's giant Ferris wheel to get a panoramic view of 200,000 daffodils. Every year, the park has a daffodil festival, during which the flowers are illuminated at night.
